Funeral For a Friend

A few days ago I went to a funeral; The father of a friend had passed away.  Blaine Hulme was a good man,  I saw him every time I went to church on Sunday. He was the ward clerk and would sit in his appropriate seat, in the front of everyone, off to the side, as he did for many years. This person had a calm friendly countenance about him and it was just comforting to see him there.  In fact one of the speakers at the funeral, remarked that he had overheard a sweet conversation about him. A little girl had been looking at Brother Hulme for awhile.  She couldn’t stop looking at him, she nudged her mom and said “I know who’s sitting over there” her mother looked, and asked who is it, expecting her to say Brother Hulme. Her daughter said “It’s God.” Children can be very perceptive I believe. Funerals aren’t normally thought to be such a happy thing, still, it’s all good. Because of The Great Plan, The Plan of Happiness, there’s MORE…Life continues on, I believe, I know.

Goodly Pearls

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it." Matthew 13
